Indian

Sun Feb 26, 2006, 3:12 PM
I got a commission to carve an Indian Head in a large Wood Burl, Nice piece of wood and bark.I need some input here. I need some photos of Indians, I need some inspiration. I don't want to carve anything too traditional. I would like it to be recognizable as Native but with feeling of Angst. I will have to research this well eh?

If you ever get a chance, make your way up to Bon Echo Provincial Park. I have a cottage on a lake across the highway up there. Lake Mazinaw will inspire you. Its a giant shear cliff of over 300 feet, and it's got native paintings along the surface of the water. It is a very beautiful place, my favourite place I've seen so far in Ontario. I love your paintings by the way :D!
:iconthomasm:
Where abouts in Ontario are you from??
:iconnestalgica:
It is difficult to decide from the thumbnail whether your art is photography or painting, despite the little artist palette next to the name. However, in full-view, I can see all the detail you put into your works. :+fav:'s, :+devwatch: and I'm going to suggest you for a DD. With only 180-odd pageviews, your art needs more recognition.

P.S. I saw you in *rachelab74's journal ;-)

I think most is actually real painting although I do have some things that are created in Photoshop, but they are also painted live-no imports-no brushes-just my own, thanks,
Earle
